Buys Danish e-commerce comet: Altor creates European billion group of digital companies

Today, Altor is launching the QNTM Group which from the beginning will be the new majority shareholder in Hesehus, the e-commerce specialists, that has come strongly through the corona crisis. The vendor is 3C Groups owned by Niels Thorborg.

Among others, Hesehus is responsible for Matas’s webshop that won the main award in the competition for the E-Commerce Prize 2020 and the e-commerce platform Bizzkit, that has become a huge international success. With the new ownership, Hesehus will continue the strong growth in the growing market for ambitious e-commerce solutions – the company has doubled since 2016 and is today employing more than 110 employees.

Partnership with great growth ambitions

Lars Hedal, Managing Director in Hesehus since the beginning in 2002, continues as joint owner. New joint owner is the COO in Hesehus Mette Reinholt Mortensen.

CEO of QNTM Group will be Eivind Roald, former Executive Vice President in SAS and Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard Norway. He elaborates the ambitions: “QNTM will invest in unique digital companies. Together with the founders, we will develop them to global market leaders. With Altor as our owner, we have access to capital and expertise and will make QNTM one of the leading European players”.

Hesehus is known as the cooperative partner of a number of large companies with award-winning success online such as Matas, BabySam, Fristads Kansas Group and Davidsen. Recently, Hesehus has obtained top positions within “Management and Workplace Culture” in the IT Company Rank and in the category “Good at making results for the customers” in the large industry analysis MyImage.

Altor was founded in 2003 and is one of the leading private equity firms in the Nordic countries. Altor’s headquarters are in Stockholm and the private equity firm has invested more than 30 billion Danish kroner in more than 60 companies.
