Now you can talk to Matas using your mobile and get an answer via Google Assistant
Today, Google is launching its voice-activated, digital assistant, Google Assistant, in Danish. Matas is one of the few selected Danish brands that take part from the beginning. And Matas’s regular e-commerce house for the past seven years, Hesehus, is of course responsible for the development of Matas’s contribution to Google Assistant.

The technologies within digital voice-activation are constantly being developed and the expectations are huge, since the voice-activate technologies make the online life even easier for the consumers. With Google’s launch of the voice-activated, digital helper ‘Google Assistant’ in Danish, Danish consumers can now get help finding their way, setting the alarm clock, writing a note, calling a contact or talking to Matas merely by speaking to their mobile phone. Matas’s app for Google Assistant is developed in a close and ambitious cooperation between Matas, Google and Hesehus.
So far Google Assistant has been available in eight languages and as part of a global roll-out of the technology, Google is launching the assistant in Norway, Sweden and Denmark today. In addition, Google is expecting to roll-out the digital assistant in more markets allowing Google Assistant to be able to speak and understand more than 30 languages before the end of 2018 and thereby reach as many as 95% of all users of Android smartphones.
"We launch Google Assistant in Danish in cooperation with some large and well-known Danish companies such as Matas. For many Danes controlling the smartphone with the voice will be a new concept and we hope that people will give it a good reception. We are therefore very pleased to be able to cooperation with Matas which the Danes know and use a lot already. And we will of course continuously add more options so that it will also be possible for the Danish consumers to make real purchases via the assistant in the long run” says Jesper Vangkilde, Head of Communications in Google Denmark.
Matas is on the forefront
In Matas – that has just now announced a new, ambitious growth strategy with huge focus on e-commerce – the new Matas Assistant in Google Assistant is in line with Matas’s vision of making it even easier to shop in the national pharmacy chain.
“With the new options available in voice-activation and Google Assistant, we are now on the forefront of the latest development within e-commerce and good customer experience,” tells Brian Andersen, E-commerce Manager in Matas who appreciates the cooperation:
“We have worked together with Hesehus on our e-commerce for many years so it was quite natural for us to include them in the development of Matas’s contribution to Google Assistant. We are happy and proud of the result we have achieved” says Brian Andersen.
With Google Assistant Matas’s customers can now search for products, filter on certain brands and not least add and remove products on their favourite list just by using the voice. Functions which make shopping even easier for Matas’s customers, including the 1.5 million Club Matas members – equalling 75% of all women in Denmark.
In Hesehus that is responsible for the development of the new, voice-activated Matas assistant as well as Matas’s award-winning e-commerce solution, there is no doubt that Google Assistant will become popular in Denmark:

Google Assistant has been built into all new Android smartphones. In iPhones the assistant can be downloaded as an app.
