Case: Wenaas
Wenaas – 250+ different shops on the same platform
Workwear for everyone
Wenaas produces workwear for most industries. They had their major breakthrough with highly specialized clothing for the offshore oil industry. Oil rigs place high demands on workwear due to extreme weather conditions and high safety requirements.
Wenaas now develops clothing for more than 250 different companies, which places demands on their digital solutions. For how do you create one solution that fits everything from oil workers to postal workers? You do not. Instead, you tailor the experience to each individual customer.
An approach for all customers
We have built a foundation that contains data on all Wenaas' products, integrations to their warehouse, ERP, and order systems. It is thus one large system that gathers all information for all customer types – whether they come from the fire department or the transport sector.
The foundation is built headless, so it does not have to be used in one specific way. Therefore, Wenaas can offer their customers to purchase the goods exactly as they find it easiest.
Each customer has their preferred solution
Wenaas' solution is tailored to each customer's needs through a multishop format. From the platform, Wenaas can easily set up new customer-specific shops, so customers get their own portal. This has the great advantage that the shop only contains products relevant to the individual customer. Firefighters cannot see postal jackets, and paramedics do not see safety boots for oil rigs. The clothing in the portal will always have the correct logos and prints that match the company's identity. This makes it simple and clear for the customer, as they only see what they need.
All types of buyers are welcome
The portals also take into account the purchasing strategies of each company. Whether it is a few buyers who continuously purchase clothing for all employees or each individual employee buying clothing, it is possible. It is indeed simple to assign rights to purchase and order in different ways. An employee can have permission to buy clothing for themselves or for thousands of colleagues. At the same time, invoicing can also be done in the way the company desires. Should payment be made immediately, is the clothing pre-ordered and paid for, or are there ongoing orders? It can be configured according to the customers' needs.
The largest customers have also had punch-out solutions made, so they can place orders directly from their own systems.
Wenaas is not just one company – Multiple benefits of headless
Wenaas' solution is not only used by Wenaas, but also by the companies Hejco and Swerre W. Monsen. All three companies are built on the same solution but have online stores that look very different – with different products. This is possible because the underlying solution is built headless. All data, logic, and control are in systems that are decoupled from the front ends of the websites. The three companies all need to connect their webshops with different underlying technologies, which they can easily do through API integrations.

The latest feature: A small improvement in the CO2 accounting
The latest improvement to Wenaas' shop reduces the number of return orders and thus the CO2 footprint from the transport of Wenaas goods. They have started to automatically check all addresses to ensure they actually exist. Customers often entered incorrect information. This resulted in goods being returned because they could never be delivered. It was frustrating for both customers and Wenaas. Address validation has alleviated the problems to the benefit of customers, the climate, and the company.
